DMV: Over 300 people tried using fake IDs to buy alcohol in New York

The Department of Motor Vehicles has cited more than 300 people across New York who tried to use fake identification cards to buy alcohol over the summer.
DMV officials say 389 fake licenses were seized compared to 550 citations in 2022. The agency says it works cooperatively with summer concert venues to check for fake IDs.
Members of the DMV's Field Investigations Division say they are well-trained in spotting a fake license. There were 43 citations in New York City.
