The Department of Buildings says it wants all construction sites, buildings and equipment to be secured due to the potential for severe weather and wind gusts up to 50 mph,

After a crane collapse in Midtown Manhattan last week, the Department of Buildings issued a weather advisory Sunday instructing property owners, contractors and crane operators to take the right measures during the high winds.

The department says it will be doing random inspections and issuing violations if needed.
