A group of people walked in Prospect Park Saturday to spread awareness about domestic violence.
Brownsville-based nonprofit Jericho Road has organized the event for the last eight years.
Organizers say it is important for survivors and supporters of domestic violence and childhood abuse to get together to show solidarity.
Those affected by the crimes say it's important to speak out.
"There's always a way out. There's always somebody that can help you, but you need to get out and save your children," says Phyllis Hall, a domestic violence survivor.
