There's a great divide when it comes to the Citi Bike program in the Bronx, so a new effort is underway to bridge that gap.

A look at the Citi Bike website reveals a clear split down the borough between where the docks are and where they are not.

The city launched its e-scooter pilot program in the northeast section of the Bronx last summer. Now, the Department of Transportation says this summer it plans to expand the program by doubling the footprint and fleet.

Shawn Garcia, of Transportation Alternatives, says it's a step in the right direction.

"There's like a big gap of like a mile, or in some places like two miles distance, between the last Citi Bike dock and the e-scooter, so we would like to see a closer connection to where the e-scooters bikes are starting and the Citi Bikes are ending," says Garcia.

Garcia urges people to speak up if they want a ride sharing program in their area.

Transportation Alternatives is also pushing for a cross Bronx bike route because currently there's no path that goes from the Harlem River all the way to the Sound.
