Brooklyn is gearing up for a big New Year’s Eve celebration at Grand Army Plaza, but this year’s festivities come with some changes and a little uncertainty.
The party kicks off at 10 p.m. with live music and entertainment. The main event? A dazzling drone light show, set to replace the traditional fireworks. But the drone show is weather-dependent.
The Prospect Park Alliance says if rain is moderate to heavy, the drones won’t take flight. The switch to drones was made this year due to fire safety concerns after drought conditions.
Still, organizers say the live entertainment will go on, rain or shine. If you’re planning to head out, be sure to check the
Prospect Park Alliance’s website or social media for updates as the night goes on.
