The NYPD is asking for help finding two people who attacked and robbed a woman on the L train earlier this month in Canarsie.

It happened around 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1 after the woman boarded a northbound L train at Rockaway Parkway station. Police say two people who were already on the train started arguing with her, and things turned violent.

One person kicked her to the ground. The other punched her in the face and took her phone while she was down.

The two then got off the train at Sutter Avenue and took off running. The victim didn’t go to the hospital but was hurt in the attack.

Now, NYPD has released photos of the people responsible. One is a man seen wearing a bonnet and multicolored shirt. The other is a woman wearing a white T-shirt, dark colored pants, and black-and-white sneakers.

Transit crime in this part of Brooklyn is down. Only two cases have been reported in the 69th Precinct so far in 202, including this one. There were seven by this time last year.

If you recognize either person, you’re asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
