The East Flatbush branch of the Brooklyn Public Library is now open again for the first time since 2018.
The library underwent a complete renovation and now features separate spaces for toddlers, teens and adults. The roof was replaced, and new heating and cooling was placed across the building.
“It’s been years in the making,” said Linda Johnson, president and CEO of the Brooklyn Public Library. “It’s a total renovation. There are skylights that were never here before… There’s new technology, there’s spaces for little, little children, for teens.”
The reopening of this library is a long-awaited return for Brooklyn residents and the Brooklyn Public Library, one of the nation’s largest library systems.
