A community is searching for a 12-year-old girl who has been missing for over a week.
Janiah Simpson was reported missing on Sept. 29. Since then, her family has been combing through their East Flatbush neighborhood posting fliers with her picture.
Authorities say Simpson was last seen leaving Wingate Park. Her twin sister says they were playing in the park when Simpson was approached by an older man. When it was time to leave, her sister says Simpson was nowhere to be found.
Simpson's family is worried that she could have been kidnapped by this man, but police have yet to confirm this.
Simpson was last seen wearing blue sweatpants, a blue T-shirt and black and green sneakers. She is around five feet six inches tall and about 150 pounds.
Simpson's family is pleading for everyone to keep an eye out so they can be reunited with their loved one as soon as possible.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
