Voters in East Flatbush voiced a list of concerns they would like to see their next senator address. Incumbent, Kevin Parker, is running for reelection in the 21st Senatorial District. However, there is a new candidate by the name of Noach Dear who also wants the Brooklyn vote. News 12 Brooklyn spoke to residents to find out what concerns they would like to see the candidates address. Many residents say they are concerned about violence and drugs. They say those two things are common in the community and there is a need for more structure and activities for children. They also worry about educational opportunities for students who are not college bound. Residents say they would like to see more trade schools in the neighborhood. Dear says his 20 years on the City Council and six years as district manager for Community Board 12 give him ample qualifications for the job.
