A new job center opening in East New York is aimed at connecting NYCHA tenants with employment opportunities.
Sherwin Darden, a NYCHA tenant who lives at the Penn-Wortman Houses, has already taken advantage of what the center has to offer. He is now a community coach at the new center. Darden says he's already found nine people jobs.
Officials say the center is more than a career center, it's a life center that offers resources like job training, mental health counseling and scholarships.
The new center is one of 10 throughout the city.
