Blacks and Jews in Brooklyn and the rest of the city are coming together to stomp out hate crime throughout the five boroughs.
Elected officials announced the coalition in Brooklyn Sunday, saying the two targeted groups need to work together.
"The racists are sending us a message of hate, and we are sending them a message of unity," said Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn).
The city council is pushing to make hanging a noose a felony. Similar symbols like burning crosses and swastikas used in unwanted displays are already felony crimes.
