The Brooklyn Greenway Initiative held its sixth annual "Epic Bike Ride" in Greenpoint Sunday.
The nonprofit group, which supports the development of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway, says the 40-mile ride showcases the beauty along the borough's waterfront.
The greenway would be a 14-mile route for pedestrians and cyclists and would connect neighborhood parks and open spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge. All of the proceeds from the event will go toward fulfilling this plan.
Currently, five miles of the greenway are available for public use and four additional segments are in the design and engineering phase.
The bike ride concluded in Rockaway Beach with an after-party.
