An explosion inside a Sunset Park restaurant caused several people to go the hospital Friday and police say it started with a roach bomb.

Investigators say workers at the 8th Avenue restaurant were trying to kill roaches when the pesticide came into contact with an open flame. Firefighters say at least three pedestrians were hit by shards of flying glass and workers inside suffered serious injuries.

The victims were taken to Lutheran Hospital and are all expected to recover.
