Families kick off Hanukkah by helping build 12-foot Lego menorah
About 40 families helped by building about 6 inches each of the base.

Wednesday marked the first the first night of Hanukkah, and the Chabad of the Rivertowns in Dobbs Ferry celebrated in a unique way.
With the help of architect Stephen Schwartz, families helped to build a 12-foot menorah - made entirely out of Legos.
Over 100,000 Lego blocks will be used.
About 40 families helped by building about 6 inches each of the base.
"It's a beautiful program of teamwork, of families building together, and then recognizing the part that you played in building the whole overall menorah eventually," says Schwartz.
Once the menorah is complete, there will be a candle-lighting ceremony and a celebration with food and music.
The Lego menorah will only be up for the event on Wednesday.
Families told News12 it's not only a fun event for them to kick off Hanukkah, but it also is something that means a lot to them and all allows them to get creative.
