Family members and loved ones said their final goodbyes to Delia Johnson Wednesday, who was shot and killed earlier this month.
Many gathered outside the Frank R. Bell Funeral Home in Crown Heights to remember the 42-year-old, who they say was filled with so much joy.
Her mother, Delia Berry, tells News 12 she is not angry, but that her heart is simply bleeding.
“This was senseless and with the Black on Black slaying of our own children, we all need help because they need to do better than this,” said Berry.
Police tell News 12 Johnson was shot and killed back on Aug. 4 on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights.
Berry told News 12 earlier this month that they know who the gunman is. She says police are still looking for that gunman at this time.
Berry says she is praying for whoever pulled the trigger and their family.
“No, I'm not angry. I went through my moments and I had them. But I’m not angry. I don’t hate because my spirit won’t allow me to hate. When you pray for people, you have to pray and let go,” said Berry.
Police say no arrests have been made at this time.
