Yankees fans made their way over to Yankee Stadium on Wednesday - not for a home game, but to bring in donations for a food drive.
This year marks the 28th annual Yankees Holiday Food Drive, where those who donated at least 30 pounds of food received a voucher for two tickets to a Yankees game next season.
The food drive was sponsored by C-Town, Bravo Supermarkets and Krasdale Foods. Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader even joined in on the fun.
“Food drives are a win-win for everybody involved,” said Bader. “Not only for handing out tickets for the upcoming season, but also for the food that’s being donated and going to a great place.”
Bader even weighed in on the recent news that star outfielder Aaron Judge would be returning to the Yankees on a nine-year contract.
“He’s just a presence,” said Bader. “I'm just happy to not only having experienced it for a few months, but now for at least the near future.”
For fans who didn’t get the chance to contribute, they had the option of donation to the Yankees’ online food drive, which raised over $22,000.
