Police are probing a car-dump truck collision on busy Atlantic Avenue that killed two people Wednesday.
According to authorities, the dump truck and a Toyota Corolla were traveling westbound on Atlantic Avenue around 5:30 a.m.Investigators believe the car may have tried to make a quick right turn in front of the truck, causing the truck to jackknife and fall on top of the car near Washington Avenue. The accident sent another nearby vehicle crashing into a brownstone.
Two people inside of the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene in the mangled vehicle. The driver of the truck suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they do not suspect any criminality at this time, however, the exact cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
