Eight people were exposed to high amounts of carbon monoxide Sunday at a home in Pelham Gardens, according to fire officials.

First responders brought the occupants of the Waring Avenue residence to a hospital.

Witnesses told News 12 that the group was sick with nausea and vomiting.

One witness also said that firefighters exposed to the poisonous gas had to be medically examined.

The condition of the eight people affected was not immediately known as of Monday afternoon.
