Part of a synagogue roof collapsed in Borough Park on Thursday evening, according to the FDNY.
The Department of Buildings said Friday that the two-story building at 1047 42nd St. had its roof partially collapsed into the second floor, with debris falling into a driveway.
Officials said the building was empty at the time, as it was undergoing renovations. No injuries were reported.
A full vacate order was issued on the building.
“It was a vibration type of shaking,” said one neighbor. “Its construction… not sure how they did it, but tons of big equipment, and with the vibration, it could not hold.”
