6h agoThe FDNY says one person was found dead in an Inwood apartment building fire this morning.
Officials say the fire started on the third floor of 4897 Broadway just before 6 a.m.
It took 12 units and 60 firefighters to get the flames under control.
A building official told News 12 that a woman and her adult son lived in the apartment that was on fire, and it was the son who was found dead.
The FDNY is investigating the cause of the fire.
Building workers and neighbors told News 12 someone may have fallen asleep with a lit cigarette, but authorities have not confirmed this.
