A boat fire broke out next to the City Island Bridge on Tuesday evening, according to the FDNY.
The FDNY received a call for a boat fire just before 6 p.m. and first responders determined that the boat had caught fire after crashing into a pillar in that area.
The boat sank, and units at the scene worked to prevent the fire from spreading to any nearby docks or buildings. The incident was placed under control just before 7 p.m.
Fire officials say that one person was transported to Jacobi Hospital, but their condition is unknown at this time.
