More than a dozen suspected gang members were arrested Thursday in East Flatbush.
FBI officials say 12 federal agents and the NYPD arrested 20 alleged members of an affiliate of the Crips gang just after 5 a.m. inside an apartment at 221 Linden Blvd. All of the suspects are under 30 years old.
The suspects are facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, murder conspiracy, attempted murder, bank fraud, narcotics trafficking, and other firearms offenses.
The charges stem from robberies, gang shootouts and other alleged gang-related displays of power.
Officials say the 75-count indictment was the result of a joint investigation between the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office, the NYPD and federal agents.
NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton says the arrests show that law enforcement agencies "will work tirelessly" to remove gangs from communities.
If convicted, most of the suspects are facing a maximum sentence of life in prison.
