The deadline for victims of August's tornado to apply for government aid passed Friday.
Some parts of Bay Ridge, Sunset Park and Kensington are still recovering from the tornado that swept through the borough in August. Some meteorologists believe the August 8 tornado may have been the first in the borough since 1889.
Sen. Martin Golden believes the tornado left behind tens of millions of dollars in damages.
FEMA had previously extended the deadline to make sure all residents were able to apply.
