The FDNY battled a massive junkyard fire on East 56th Street in Preston Court on Wednesday.
People who work in the area told News 12 the fire started at an auto parts junkyard.
Video shows just how intense and thick the smoke was.
Fire officials say about 60 firefighters were called to the scene just after 5 p.m. Firefighters got a bit of an assist from Mother Nature as it started raining pretty steadily around 6:30 p.m.
There is still no word on what may have sparked the fire.
The fire was deemed under control. No injuries have been reported at this time.
