Fire officials say several people were injured after a fire broke out in a Brownsville high rise building Saturday night.
They say the fire broke out around 7 p.m. on the 12th floor. More than 70 firefighters responded to the scene.
Officials say two people had to be rescued. One has minor injuries and the other person's injuries are more serious.
The New York Post reports that a 19-year-old man was seriously injured. There is no word on what those injuries are.
The FDNY says crews were at the scene in about two minutes because of the station's proximity to the building.
The Red Cross says a total of four apartments were impacted by the fire. They are currently helping seven adults and two children in two of the apartments and are trying to connect with the other two families.
