A home on Monroe Street caught on fire at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, according to authorities.
The two-alarm fire was reported to be on the second floor of the three-story building.
Fire officials told News 12 that three people and two dogs were inside the home but managed to get out safely.
The Red Cross had also arrived on site and is providing assistance.
“I came out of the house and I looked over and there was a bunch of black smoke all over the place,” a neighbor told News 12. “…This end of the block was completely blurry and smoky. I really couldn't see anything past this area.”
No injuries have been reported and the cause remains under investigation.
