Anime and manga fans are celebrating their passion with a brand-new convention.
The first AniTomo Convention was held at the Brooklyn Public Library in Cadman Plaza, where visitors were dressed as their favorite characters from popular anime shows.
The event was coordinated by Eileen Baptistin Level, Giovanni Griffiths and Ashely Lubin, who were able to kickstart the convention thanks to the Brooklyn Public Library Incubator Program.
They were also able to take part in several activities, including talking to those who work within anime, video game tournaments and Q&A sessions.
Attendees told News 12 that anime is a genre that continues to grow. Over 800 people signed up to attend the convention, which the library says took about a year to plan.
