The FDNY says a manhole fire in Flatbush on Sunday prompted the evacuation of a nearby building after emergency responders detected elevated carbon monoxide levels.

It happened just after 1 p.m. in front of 2020 Cortelyou Road, a building that houses Futa Islamic Center and
Ditmas Park Medical Care.

Those inside 2020 Cortelyou Road were evacuated, according to fire officials.

Citizen app footage shows thick, black smoke billowing from the underground fire in front of the building.

Con Edison says it identified a weather-related issue with an underground cable, which it says its crews are working to repair.

There are no related power outages Sunday as of 5 p.m., according to Con Ed's outage map.

However, the utility company says it may have to interrupt service while repairs are made.

It was not immediately known if anyone was injured during the incident.
