Multiple Florence Township residents have been targeted in a recent scam.

Police say scammers pose as bank fraud department employees and tell victims there is suspicious activity on their accounts.

Victims are then pressured to provide personal information so they can access the victim's account. Some are asked to cut up their debit or credit card and mail the pieces to the scammer.

If you receive a similar suspicious call, hang up and contact your bank using their official phone number.

If you believe you have been targeted in this scam, report the incident to your local police department.
