Former head of English dept. sues Commack SD, BOE for $80M after removal of book from curriculum

The former head of the English Department at Commack High School is suing the district and its Board of Education for $80 million.
Charles Schulz became outspoken after the removal of a book from the curriculum in Commack schools.
The lawsuit claims that district leaders got rid of Scholz's job after he spoke out against removing "Persepolis" from the required reading list.
Some people consider the novel of an Iranian girl's coming of age story during the country's revolution to be racist and part of the controversial critical race theory curriculum.
