A former LIU Brooklyn basketball star is making a run toward his Olympic dream.

Kyle Johnson is trying out for the Great Britain national team in hopes of making it to the summer games in London this year.

Johnson had helped lead the Blackbirds to the NCAA tournament last year and is the school's 11th all-time leading scorer.

The final roster for the Olympic team will be announced at the beginning of July.
