Members of the Fort Greene community are calling for increased safety measures and police foot patrols on Fulton and Saint Felix streets following Thursday?s rape.
Police say a 30-year-old woman was walking to her job at Brooklyn Hospital early Thursday morning when she was grabbed by a man from behind and sexually assaulted.
?You may walk out of your house at night and feel safe because we barely have problems on Saint Felix [Street],? says resident Arlene Hendricks. ?But you have to be smart, know there's not enough police presence in the neighborhood.?
So far, no arrests have been made in the case. Police say the suspect is a black male with a Nigerian accent. Anyone with information about the rape is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
