Two Brooklyn foster moms are making a difference after more than 100 dogs were rescued from a hoarding situation in Mill Basin just two weeks ago.
Katie and Tate, longtime animal lovers, were inspired to act after watching News 12’s coverage of the rescue.
The couple pulled five dogs from the city shelter.
Four were quickly adopted, but one pup stayed with them.
His name is Cappy.
“He is such a unique dog,” said Katie. “Given the circumstances, he has so much love to give, and all he wants to do is sit in your lap.”
The couple says fostering has changed their lives, and they’re hoping others will be inspired to do the same.
