With a shortage in Brooklyn, the New York Blood Center is offering residents free Mets tickets as a way to encourage them to donate blood.
The center's mobile unit will be stationed outside Brooklyn College from Monday until Thursday from noon to 5:30 p.m. Officials at the blood center say there is a critical shortage, which could be turned around with enough donations.
Donating can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes. Donors must be between 16 and 17 years of age and weigh more than 110 pounds. In addition, donors must bring a photo ID and know their Social Security numbers.
