The New York Water Taxi will be re-launching its free "Destination Red Hook" summer ferry this weekend.
The ferry will traverse the waters from Manhattan's Pier 11 to the Fairway Market and Ikea dock in Red Hook.
The ferry ride is offered on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer to provide residents with a more convenient way to trek across the East River.
Ikea and Fairway Market are sponsoring the cost of the ferry to bring Manhattan residents to Brooklyn in an attempt to boost sales at shops and restaurants.
The ferry will run continuously each weekend, every 25 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., through Labor Day.
The service was launched last year in the wake of Superstorm Sandy to allow more access to and from Red Hook.
There is also a regular-service ferry that leaves from the Ikea docks year-round, which normally costs $5.
