Friends and family of Samyia Spain came together to honor her life nearly one year after she was fatally stabbed at just 19 years old.

News 12 previously reported that Samyia and her twin sister were stabbed nearly a year ago after police say she rejected a man who tried to make advances on them. Her twin sister survived but Samyia died hours later at the hospital.
Samyia would have celebrated her 21st birthday with her twin next month. Samyia's father Steven Spain says life has not gotten any easier without her.
"She was everything a father could ask for. That was my baby. I miss you, I love you, and I'll see you again," said Spain.
Samyia's family tells News 12 her accused killer is due in court in April.
