Fun and games helped students at P.S. 45 in Bushwick push up their math scores.
A class-time game of probability is just one of the strategies that paid off for students. Math scores at P.S. 45 shot up 23 percentage points in the past school year. That compares with a jump of just 8 points citywide.
Principal Tracey Lott-Davis credits extra help sessions, weekly assessments and adding a 45-minute math cluster session on top of regular lesson plans for the students? success.
P.S. 45 faculty says their work isn?t done yet. They say their goal is to have 100 percent of the students at or above grade level.
