Friends and family said their final goodbyes Thursday to the Williamsburg man killed in what prosecutors are calling a hate crime. Police say three men lured Michael Sandy, 29, to a Plum Beach rest stop with promises of sex, but actually intended to rob him. Sandy was hit by a car on the Belt Parkway while trying to escape his attackers. He died five days later. Two men have been indicted on charges of second-degree murder as a hate crime. Police say a third suspect is expected to be indicted later this week. Related Information Teens charged with hate crime in attack on gay man on Belt Parkway
