A funeral is being held Friday for the FDNY firefighter who drowned while saving his daughter from a rip current in New Jersey.

A funeral was held Friday for the FDNY firefighter who drowned while saving his daughter from a rip current in New Jersey.
Mark Batista, 39, was a 15-year veteran with the FDNY who worked at Engine Co. 226 in Downtown Brooklyn.
Crowds of mourners came out Thursday to show their respects at a wake for Batista.
Funeral services for Batista took place at the Vander Plaat funeral home in New Jersey.
