Gov. Kathy Hochul introduced a new grant program focused on green resiliency in honor of Earth Week.
The grant program will provide $60 million in funding to support flood-prone communities. The money will go toward infrastructure, including green roofs, green streets and permeable pavement.
The governor says the projects will help mitigate flooding in the at-risk regions, while also providing cleaner water, air and ecosystems.
The program also aims to increase the vibrance in communities through these green projects, which will help attract investments in these communities.
