Gov. Kathy Hochul called into News 12 Saturday afternoon to give a local update on the weekend blizzard.
“We can’t control the weather itself, but we can control our preparations,” Hochul said.
The governor says Long Island saw the brunt of the storm while New York City and the Hudson Valley saw lesser amounts of snow.
She says they expect things to be normal for the Monday morning commute and for the LIRR to be operational by then.
Hochul also gave advice for people who are dealing with power outages and even gave some shoveling tips.
