Gov. David Paterson on Monday said he met with the mother of slain Detective Omar Edwards.
Natalia Edwards had asked the governor in a letter for a deeper investigation into the May 28 friendly fire shooting of her son. Paterson says he just received the letter and will respond to her request. Mayor Bloomberg says right after the shooting a taskforce was created to look at police-on-police shootings.
A grand jury voted not to indict the plainclothes officer who fatally shot Edwards.
