The woman accused of killing her husband and 3-year-old son in their hotel room at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains called 911 and said she “needed help dying,” according to a police affidavit.

Metallica Harrison, 27, called 911 at 3:13 p.m. Monday, telling the operator that she did not “want to be here anymore” and that her “husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room,” according to court documents.

According to investigators, Harrison never requested help for her husband or son during the call.

Responding officers found Harrison with cuts to her left wrist and superficial puncture wounds to her neck. She told officers she “wanted to be with her husband and son,” according to the affidavit.

Her husband, Charles Harrison, and the couple’s 3-year-old son were found dead on separate mattresses on the floor. Investigators said Charles Harrison suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest, while the child appeared to have suffered a single stab wound to the chest.

Investigators found a large butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the bathroom sink. Both knives had teal handles and did not belong to the resort, according to the affidavit. Several bottles of medication were also found throughout the room.

According to investigators, Harrison and her family checked into Great Wolf Lodge on Sept. 21 and extended their stay on Oct. 5 through Oct. 13. Surveillance video showed family members entering and leaving the room several times on Oct. 11. No additional activity was documented after late that evening.

Officers reported that Harrison made several statements while being transported to St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe Campus, including “I just needed energy and strength,” and repeatedly expressed suicidal thoughts.

“Every day, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” she said during the ambulance ride, according to the affidavit.

Harrison is charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
