The Greenpoint community is helping one another as the number of coronavirus cases continues to increase throughout the city.
The community wants to make sure their neighbors are doing alright. Danielle Franco says she is helping put together a list of people in her neighborhood who are willing to help others.

"I've just been thinking about people in the neighborhood who probably are going to be hit harder than I am on this, particularly people who have to stay in the house and really can't be going out," said Franco.
The idea started on the North Brooklyn Civic Crowdsource community Facebook page. Now, Franco says she can keep a record of people who can help. In just one day, more than 70 people have signed up to be a part of the group of helpers.
Franco says it's all about making sure those who are vulnerable have a support system. She says she has two grandmothers in Canada who are limiting contact with people.
"I'm also thinking about people have to stay indoors who might live alone who might be really lonely and just could use a daily phone call to say hi and make sure someone is looking out for them," said Franco.
If anyone needs help, Franco says they can reach out to the Facebook page.
