Imagine Swimming hosted a free class for children in Crown Heights Friday, as the city's public pools gear up for a busy summer. 

The group says they are promoting swimming safety – such as only swimming when a lifeguard is on-duty, never swimming alone and knowing the rules of their swimming facility. 

The event was also sponsored by the developers of the Bedford-Union Armory, which plans to feature a new pool. 

Imagine Swimming says it will continue to provide lessons for the local community at the new facility upon its completion.
