The Haitian Family Resource Center is organizing a relief effort to help victims of Hurricane Matthew.
The Flatbush center has served the Haitian-American community since 2010, providing services such as legal immigration, adult learning and pre-screening assistance. Now, the center is asking the community to help Haiti recover from the devastating storm.
Organizers say people from all over Brooklyn are dropping off goods at the center, including food, toiletries and clothing. It can be found at 1783 Flatbush Ave.
The center is currently at risk of closure due to lack of funds and is running an online fundraiser to keep the building open.
