A​n 86-year-old woman was found dead inside her home in Bensonhurst, leading to a police investigation.

It happened around 1:20 p.m. Monday at 2348 63rd St. Police say someone called 911 to check on the woman. When officers got to the house, they found her unconscious and unresponsive.

She was identified as Kim To. Emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police are waiting on the medical examiner to determine how the woman died.

Crime scene detectives were outside the house for several hours Monday, going in and out as they worked the case.

An officer was still stationed outside Tuesday morning.
