Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms arrive after 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. Expect a few downpours, strong to damaging winds, thunder and lots of lightning. Another isolated shower or storm is possible after 12 a.m.
A flash flood warning is in effect for Brooklyn until 1:15 a.m.
NEXT: Thursday morning commute is trending drier with improving humidity throughout the day. Highs in the mid- to upper-80s. Friday will be the pick of the week with loads of sunshine, good air quality and pleasantly warm temps in the low- to mid-80s. This weekend will be very warm, slightly humid with plenty of sunshine. We'll be taking a break from the extreme heat next week with highs close or slightly above normal.
