Monday's heavy winds downed trees and branches in Brooklyn throughout the day.
Officers from the NYPD's Emergency Unit cut up the branches after a tree came crashing down in Crown Heights along Sterling Place near the corner of Rochester Avenue. The tree landed on several parked cars and the sidewalk.
No one was hurt, but it served as a reminder of how dangerous strong winds can be.
Many across the borough fought the gusts to get to work and school during the morning commute.
