Two local police officers are receiving special recognition for saving a baby's life last month.
Borough President Eric Adams honored NYPD Sgt. Michael Dario and Officer Elias Khan, both from the 62nd Precinct, for coming to the rescue of a choking 2-week-old boy in Bensonhurst.
The baby's mother, Christine Maresca, says she is forever grateful to the officers for their quick response. Adams added that the incident is one of the reasons he's pushing for all members of the NYPD to be trained in CPR.
It was part of the second "Hero of the Month" event held at Borough Hall. Adams says that each month he'll continue to recognize the accomplishments of the men and women who make a difference in Brooklyn.
